Our Mission
Keech Hospice Care exists to provide high-quality accessible specialist palliative care, and work in partnership to influence and educate others in end of Life Care.

Key Message:


Keech Hospice Care is the adult’s hospice of Luton and South Bedfordshire and children’s hospice for Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes.


Keech Hospice Care believe no one  should have to face a terminal and life limiting illness alone.


As a charity, Keech Hospice Care Survivals depends on the community for 70% of its funding.


Keech Hospice Care provide care to patients where they need it most -  whether it can be in the home, hospital, school, care homes, and day clinics.


None of the care Keech Hospice provide would be possible without the vital support of the local community.


The clear majority of our funding comes from the local community with a small amount (30%) provided by the NHS, local authorities and the Department of Health.


Keech Hospice Care is determined to keep patients out of hospital out of hospital and at home  with their families, making the  most of  the  time they have  left.


It cost £14,000 to keep Keech Hospice Care’s care service running every day.


£5.2 million is needed to provide our hospice services


In 2014/2015 Financial Year:


264 family’s members were supported by our hospice services

372 calls to our advice line (adults service)

729 adults and children were supported (474 adults, 255 children)

2,443 overnight stays

45 children attended Sparklers sibling support group

£4,183,000 is our total retail income

167 family members were supported by our children’s’ service

£3,145,000 was raised by our supporters



Every penny you have raised can make the world of difference to seriously ill adults, children and their families in the time they need it most. For example:
£750                24 hours care for an adult in the In-Patient Unit 
£150                One day therapy session

£150                holistic therapy sessions to alleviate pain

£150                Nurse visit to a child in the community 
£59                  Bereavement care session for a family to help cope with the loss

£37                  Music therapy to help a patient or a family  member come to terms with a diagnosis

£32                  One hour of nursing care in our inpatient units

£20                  A swim with family in our specialist hydrotherapy pool.
